Studio Rentals
Our 5th Avenue ballroom, for your event — rehearsals, workshops, auditions, showcases, and private celebrations.
The Floor, For A Night
Big Apple Ballroom's 5th Avenue studio is one of the finest sprung floors in Manhattan, and for a single evening it can be yours. Dancers rehearse here, companies hold auditions here, couples mark anniversaries here, and photographers shoot here — because the room is beautiful, the light is good, and it is two minutes from Union Square.
This page is for one-off events. If you're an instructor or student looking for hourly practice or teaching time, our floor fee program is what you want. See floor fees →
What You Get
Sprung Hardwood Floor
Professional-grade, shock-absorbing flooring built for hours of dancing without punishing anyone's knees.
Union Square, Five Floors Up
78 Fifth Avenue at 14th Street — reachable from anywhere in Manhattan, and easy to give directions to.
Mirrors, Sound, and Climate
Wall-to-wall mirrors, a house sound system with Bluetooth and aux, microphones on request, and climate control that keeps up with a full room.
Tell Us About Your Event
Four short steps, about three minutes. The more you tell us here, the faster we can come back with a real answer and a real price.
Before You Ask
A few things that are true of every rental, so there are no surprises later.
A 50% deposit holds the date
The deposit is non-refundable, and it's what turns a request into a booking. The balance is due before your event.
Cancel with more than 24 hours' notice
Inside 24 hours, the full rental fee is forfeited. That window is firm — an empty Saturday evening can't be resold.
Everyone signs a waiver
Every person attending signs our liability waiver before taking part. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign for them.
Equipment is as-is
Our sound system, microphones, and floor are yours to use. Damage beyond normal wear is billed to you.
Setup and breakdown are floor time
If you need an hour before and half an hour after, that's ninety minutes of the room. We'd rather quote it than surprise you with it.
Some things our building doesn't allow
No live musicians, nothing attached to the walls or ceiling, and no cooking on site. Recorded music, freestanding décor, and cold catering are all fine.
Alcohol needs approval, and a licence
Alcohol at a rental always needs our written approval in advance, and whoever hosts the event and serves it must hold any licence the law requires.
Every rental is governed by our Terms & Conditions, Code of Conduct, and Liability Waiver, together with a signed Space Use Agreement.
Not Sure If We're The Right Room?
Call the studio and describe what you have in mind. We'll tell you straight away whether we can host it — and if we can't, we usually know who can.
