About the Program.

Big Apple Ballroom is New York City's premier destination for ballroom dance. Professional instructors are welcome to bring their students and teach at our 5th Avenue studio. There's no pre-booking: walk in any time the studio is open and the floor isn't in use for a group class, practice session, event or rental.

Practice time

Open-floor practice for dancers who aren't teaching is available too — ask at the desk. Same hours as floor fees, and our in-house clients have the same preference. Rates on request.

Floor-Fee Hours

When the floor is open to outside instructors. Group classes and practice sessions close it each week; dated closures for events and rentals are listed below.

Walk in. There's no pre-booking of floor-fee time — calling ahead doesn't hold the floor. Our in-house clients have preference at all times, and management reserves the right to limit access at any time.

How it works when you arrive

Check in when you arrive.
Instructors and their students both sign in at the desk on arrival.

Tell the desk what you're teaching.
45-minute or 60-minute session, how many sessions, and who is paying.

Pay before you leave.
Settle at the desk on your way out.

Card on file.
Every instructor who teaches on a floor fee keeps a credit card on file with the studio.
